Restylane® and Perlane
Restylane® and Perlane are two long-lasting Swedish, non-animal derived hyaluronic acid gel fillers, which have widely used in much of the world for correction of wrinkles, fold and depressions. When placed under the wrinkle, the hyaluronic acid filler lifts and smoothes the wrinkle out immediately.

Restylane Side Effects Since the hyaluronic acid in Restylane is not obtained from animals, no animals are killed to produce it AND Restylane is free from animal contamination and the resulting potential allergic reactions (such as may be seen in those who are allergic to eggs, fowl or beef). Moreover, Restylane has NO potential risks of either transmitting infectious diseases from animals to patients.

The length of time that a Restylane or Perlane treatment lasts is very individual. It depends on the condition of the skin, the location and amount of movement in the skin fold as well as on lifestyle and age of the patient. Restylane and Perlane are affected by the same on-going aging processes that change the structure of your skin. When the Restylane/Perlane molecules dissolve, they turn into water and depart completely without leaving any trace in your body.
Restylane and Perlane have a longer-lasting effect than many other soft-tissue filling preparations. For the majority of the patients treated, about 50-80 % of the effect remains after 6 months. Clinical studies have shown that Restylane is effective up to one year after the treatment of wrinkles and approximately half a year after the filling out of lips. Studies show that Restylane and Perlane can offer a high degree of patient satisfaction up to one year after treatment with most people choose to have a touch-up done within a year of the original treatment.
